Youth Now! Award Nomination
The Youth Council was nominated in the group category for a United Way Youth Now! Award. These awards recognize the amazing contributions youth (ages 11-24) make to our community.
The awards ceremony is Thursday, May 24th at 7pm at Camosun College.
Youth Core Launch
YouthCore.ca is a great new tool to provide info for youth as well as link youth in Victoria. The launch party, tomorrow night, Wed. May 23 at the Victoria Event Center, will be all about fun, learning and music! The Vic High R&B Band will be performing, there will have a showcase of this website and all the fun stuff that is on it and also information on different opportunities for young people just like you. March 8 Meeting Minutes
The meeting minutes from our March 8 Executive Meeting at the Blanshard Community Centre are now on our online forums.
Executive Meeting
The CVYC’s next Executive Meeting will be Thursday, March 1st from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. The location is still to be determined. This will be our first official meeting with Katie as coordinator!
Last night, we had our last executive meeting with Chelsea our outgoing coordinator. We should have some group photos from our meeting up soon.
Loud And Clear Youth Confrence
The CVYC and several other community groups will be attending a free youth engagement confrence at City Hall on Febuary 10th. Workshop themes range from self-care and safety to environment and employment. The confrence will also feature the Victoria premiere of the acclaimed documentary, Wards of the Crown. We presented the results of our first ever youth survey to City Council earlier this month. Now our report is available to everyone on our Press page as a PDF download. You can also download the Executive Summary and Appendix.
